ElectronicPartner and Electronic & Domestic Appliances (EDA) will jointly establish the European company E-Square with effect from 1 January 2012. As a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG), it will combine the strengths of its founding members. The aim is to guarantee sustainable partnerships with international suppliers as partners in a challenging market. E-Square will begin business operations on the effective date.

“This step underpins the long-term success of ElectronicPartner and that of our members. This is because our market is changing at an ever faster rate. In an increasingly global business environment, anyone wishing to achieve something can better do so from a strong international position”, commented Dr. Jörg Ehmer, spokesman for the ElectronicPartner Managing Directors. “The foundation of E-Square will give us and our partners more weight at European level and enable us to better position ourselves with regard to the industry.”

E-Square EEIG will generate a central purchasing volume of EUR 6.5 billion. It will be represented by 12,000 associated retailers on the 14 most important markets of Western European: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. All members are renowned market operators in their home markets and complement each other within E-Square as the most important confederation in Western Europe.

“E-Square enables us to increase our impact at European level. We shall intensify cooperation with the international core suppliers significantly and move towards mutual growth”, commented Patrick Neuss, Managing Director of E-Square.

“Greater cooperation is a logical step towards positioning ourselves optimally on a hard fought market during challenging economic times,” added Paul Tyson, Managing Director of E-Square.

The national trading operations of ElectronicPartner and the ElectronicPartner national companies in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland will continue as before. E-Square will concentrate on international partnerships with core suppliers.
