ElectronicPartner Austria: Jörn Gellermann has passed away

On 7 October 2025, Jörn Gellermann, Managing Director of ElectronicPartner Austria, passed away unexpectedly.

This news comes as a shock not only to the member companies in Austria but also to the entire ElectronicPartner group and numerous partners. Jörn Gellermann was a key and highly committed figure in the electronics industry, both nationally and internationally.

 

Born in 1970 in Bremerhaven, he began his career within the ElectronicPartner group at the age of 35 as a Controller at the Düsseldorf headquarters. After three years, he moved to the European retail cooperative E-Square – of which ElectronicPartner is a member – as Head of Business Development National/International. He subsequently took responsibility for organisation and processes at ElectronicPartner Germany until 2015. He was then appointed Commercial Director in Austria, where he was later granted power of attorney. Since 2021, he had been leading the Austrian subsidiary as Managing Director alongside Michael Hofer. In early 2025, he also took on a Managing Director role at E-Square.

 

“Jörn was the kind of person who approached others openly, always lent a hand, and brought both professional and social competence to everything he did. He was a fantastic partner and friend, and I cannot put into words what a loss his far-too-early death means for our entire team,” said Michael Hofer.

 

The news was also received with great sadness at the ElectronicPartner headquarters in Düsseldorf, where Jörn Gellermann was a regular visitor and still had many friends. Friedrich Sobol, Member of the Executive Board at ElectronicPartner, stated: “Jörn leaves a huge gap in our company. He was both a driving force and a person of irreplaceable character at ElectronicPartner. All of us who knew him are deeply affected by this loss – especially his family and closest friends, to whom I wish strength and hope in the time ahead.”
